Privacy Policy for Tendy Link
Introduction
Tendy Link (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is an Android companion app that helps you:
- Cast your phone screen to a Meta Quest headset running SpatialCam / Tendy (same Wi‑Fi), or
- Open Quest’s phone-monitor page in your phone browser so you can watch the Quest feed.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and your choices.
By using Tendy Link, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information the App Accesses
Screen capture (required to cast)
- When you tap Start cast, Android asks for screen capture / media projection permission.
- Captured screen frames are encoded and sent over your local Wi‑Fi / hotspot to your Meta Quest device for display.
- We do not upload your screen stream to our own servers or cloud storage.
- Casting stops when you tap Stop, revoke permission, or the projection ends (for example, lock screen or system stop).
Network / Internet
Internet / network access is used to:
- Connect to your Quest (signaling and video stream on the local network)
- Open Quest’s monitor URL in a browser when you use Watch Quest
- Load Google AdMob ads
- Communicate with Google Play services as required by the Android / ads SDK
Local preferences
Stored only on your device (app private preferences), for example:
- Last entered Quest IP address
- Preferred cast orientation (portrait / landscape)
These are not uploaded to our servers.
Advertising identifiers and ad data (AdMob)
The app shows a banner ad using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).
Google may collect or process data such as:
- Advertising ID / device identifiers (subject to your device settings)
- IP address, device and app information
- Ad interaction and performance data
This is governed by Google’s privacy policy and AdMob policies. We do not sell this data. You can limit ad personalization in your device / Google settings where available.
Notifications (casting service)
While casting, Android may show a foreground service notification (“casting”) required by the system for screen capture. This is a local system UI, not a marketing notification from us.
Permissions overview
| Permission / access | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Internet / network state | Local cast & monitor links; AdMob |
| Screen capture (MediaProjection) | Cast phone screen to Quest |
| Foreground service (media projection) | Keep casting reliable while sharing |
| Notifications (where required by Android) | Show ongoing cast status |
| Ad ID (via Google Play services / AdMob) | Serve ads |
You can revoke permissions in Android settings; casting and some features will stop if required access is denied.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not:
- Require you to create an account with us
- Collect your name, email, or contacts through the app UI
- Collect precise GPS location for our own use
- Upload your cast screen content to our servers
- Access your photo/video library for browsing (screen share only captures what you authorize)
How We Use Information
We use the access described above only to:
- Provide phone → Quest screen casting
- Help you open Quest monitor links on the same Wi‑Fi
- Remember your Quest IP and orientation preference locally
- Display ads that help keep the app available
We do not use your cast screen content for advertising creatives, profiling for sale, or training our own AI models.
Sharing with Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Third parties that may process data in connection with the app:
| Party | Why |
|---|---|
| Google (AdMob / Play services) | Ads and related measurement |
| Your Meta Quest / SpatialCam app on the same network | Receives the cast stream you choose to send |
| Google Play | App download, updates, and store services |
Their handling of data is governed by their own policies.
Local network streaming to Quest is by your choice; anyone on an insecure network who can reach your devices could theoretically interfere—use trusted Wi‑Fi, and stop casting when finished.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Cast sessions are live streams; they are not stored by us.
- Local preferences remain until you clear app data or uninstall the app.
- Ad / device data retained by Google follows Google’s retention policies.
Deletion requests (all regions)
- Email zenchang.com@gmail.com with subject:
Tendy Link Data Deletion Request. - Tell us what you want removed (we mainly control app preferences on device guidance; Google ads data is handled via Google’s tools).
You can delete local data yourself anytime: Android Settings → Apps → Tendy Link → Storage → Clear data (or uninstall).
Children’s Privacy
Tendy Link is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact zenchang.com@gmail.com.
Security
- Screen cast runs on your local network to your headset.
- Ads use Google’s SDKs.
- No method of wireless transmission is 100% secure; use trusted networks and stop casting when done.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will change the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. Material changes may also be noted in Play Store release notes.
